Company Policies
Website & Production Policies
1. PRODUCTION TERMS
1.1 Production Assessment
All production enquiries are subject to review before acceptance.
Prices, minimum quantities and estimated production timelines may vary depending on garment type, design complexity, quantity, materials, finishing requirements and other specifications.
Submission of an enquiry through our website does not constitute acceptance of a production order.
1.2 Sampling Before Bulk Production
STERAD strongly recommends and may require sampling before bulk production.
The sampling process allows the client to assess garment construction, measurements, fit, finishing and other agreed specifications before bulk production begins.
Sampling fees must be paid in full before sample development begins.
1.3 Sample Approval
Clients are responsible for carefully reviewing samples and communicating any required corrections before approving them for bulk production.
Once a sample has been approved, bulk production will be based on the approved sample and/or agreed specifications.
Changes requested after sample approval may result in additional charges and/or an extension of the production timeline.
1.4 Patterns & Development
Where STERAD develops patterns specifically for a client’s project, the use, ownership or release of such patterns will be subject to the terms agreed for that particular project.
1.5 Production Commencement
Production timelines begin only after all required conditions have been satisfied, including where applicable:
Required payment received • Sample approved • Final specifications confirmed • Required materials available • Quantities and size breakdown confirmed
A quotation or verbal discussion alone does not constitute production commencement.
1.6 Minimum Order Quantity
Minimum order quantities vary according to garment type, design complexity and production requirements.
STERAD reserves the right to determine the applicable MOQ for each project.
⸻
2. PAYMENT POLICY
Samples
Sampling and related development services require 100% payment before commencement.
Bulk Production
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, clients may pay:
100% before production, or
70% advance payment before production and 30% balance upon completion.
Production begins after confirmation of the required advance payment and satisfaction of other production requirements.
Outstanding Balances
Where a balance remains outstanding, completed goods may be held until the amount due has been received, subject to the specific terms of the project.
STERAD reserves the right to pause production where an agreed payment obligation has not been fulfilled.
Additional Work
Client-requested alterations, design changes, additional quantities, additional branding or other work outside the original quotation may attract additional charges.
Any such charges should be communicated before the additional work proceeds.
⸻
3. PRODUCTION TIMELINE & DELIVERY POLICY
Production timelines are estimates based on the information available when the project is confirmed.
Typical production timelines may vary according to:
Order quantity • Number of designs • Garment complexity • Fabric availability • Branding requirements • Client approval time • Production scheduling
Changes to an approved design or specification may affect the agreed completion date.
Delays resulting from late client approvals, delayed payments, unavailable materials, incomplete information or changes requested by the client may extend the production timeline.
Where circumstances outside STERAD’s reasonable control affect production, we will communicate relevant changes to the client as reasonably practicable.
⸻
4. QUALITY CONTROL POLICY
STERAD is committed to delivering professionally manufactured garments that conform to approved samples and agreed production specifications.
Our quality-control process may include:
Pre-Production Inspection
Materials, specifications and production requirements are reviewed before bulk manufacturing.
In-Line Inspection
Garments may be inspected during production to identify and correct manufacturing issues.
Final Inspection
Completed garments undergo final inspection before packaging and release.
Because garments are manufactured products, reasonable manufacturing tolerances may apply where appropriate. Any project-specific measurement tolerances should be agreed before production where they are critical to the order.
⸻
5. RETURNS, DEFECTS & CORRECTIONS POLICY
Clients should inspect completed garments promptly after receiving them.
Verified manufacturing defects should be reported to STERAD within 14 days of receipt, together with sufficient information, photographs or other evidence reasonably required to assess the issue.
Where STERAD confirms that an issue resulted from our manufacturing process, an appropriate remedy may include:
Correction • Repair • Replacement • Other mutually agreed resolution
Custom-manufactured and bulk-produced garments made according to an approved sample or agreed specification are generally not eligible for return simply because the client changes their mind after production.
Normal variations inherent in materials supplied or approved by the client are not automatically considered manufacturing defects.
This policy does not limit any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
⸻
6. CLIENT-SUPPLIED MATERIALS POLICY
STERAD accepts client-supplied fabrics, trims, labels and other production materials where agreed.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that materials supplied are appropriate for the intended garment and provided in sufficient quantities.
STERAD may advise clients if an obvious material concern is identified, but final material selection remains subject to the agreed sourcing arrangement.
Production delays resulting from insufficient, late or unsuitable client-supplied materials may affect the agreed timeline.
Where possible, clients should provide reasonable allowance for fabric defects, cutting requirements and production wastage.
⸻
7. FABRIC & MATERIAL SOURCING POLICY
Where requested, STERAD may assist clients with sourcing fabrics, trims, zippers, buttons, labels and other garment-production materials.
Material availability and prices can change.
Where a specific fabric, colour or accessory becomes unavailable, we may propose a suitable alternative for client approval before proceeding.
STERAD will not knowingly substitute a materially different fabric or major component without appropriate client approval.
⸻
8. DESIGN CHANGES POLICY
All major design changes should be communicated and approved before bulk production.
Changes requested after:
pattern development, sampling, material sourcing, cutting or bulk production
may result in additional charges.
If production has already progressed, certain changes may no longer be technically or commercially feasible.
STERAD will advise the client where this occurs.
⸻
9. CANCELLATION POLICY
Clients may request cancellation of a project by contacting STERAD.
However, once work has commenced, costs already incurred or committed may be non-refundable.
This may include:
Pattern-development costs • Sampling costs • Fabric/material purchases • Labour already performed • Cutting costs • Branding costs • Other project-specific commitments
Any refundable balance, where applicable, will be determined according to the stage of the project and the costs already incurred.
⸻
10. SHIPPING & COLLECTION POLICY
Completed orders may be collected or delivered using an agreed logistics arrangement.
Unless expressly included in the quotation, shipping and delivery charges are separate from garment-production charges.
Where a third-party logistics provider is used, delivery estimates provided by the courier are subject to that provider’s operations.
STERAD will reasonably assist clients with information required to resolve logistics issues, but responsibility for third-party shipping incidents will be assessed according to the agreed delivery arrangement and applicable law.
International clients are responsible for applicable destination-country customs duties, taxes or import charges unless otherwise agreed in writing.
⸻
11. PACKAGING POLICY
Basic production packaging may include garment folding, polybag packaging, labeling and preparation for dispatch where included in the production agreement.
Special packaging, branded packaging, boxes, hangers or other custom requirements may attract additional charges.
Clients requiring special packaging should communicate this before production is finalized.
⸻
12. CLIENT DESIGNS & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
STERAD respects the intellectual property and confidential production information of its clients.
Designs, tech packs and other confidential materials supplied by clients will be used for legitimate purposes connected with the requested production services.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights or authorization to manufacture any designs, trademarks, logos, artwork or other intellectual property they submit to STERAD.
STERAD may decline a project where there are reasonable concerns regarding intellectual-property ownership or authorization.
⸻
13. CONFIDENTIALITY & NDA
STERAD recognizes that fashion brands may share commercially sensitive information during product development.
We treat client designs, technical specifications and production information with appropriate confidentiality.
Where additional protection is required, STERAD is open to reviewing and signing an appropriate Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before confidential project information is exchanged.
